You haven't found the right outdoor luminaire yet?
Solar lights are a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to put your outdoor area in the right light. They work well both as decorative pieces and as path lighting. We also have solar lamps with motion sensors – for more security around your home.
Solar lamps for wonderful moments
Solar lights offer a number of advantages when compared to conventional outdoor lamps. For one thing, you don't need to lay any cables and you can position the lighting elements wherever you need them. Just make sure that the integrated solar panel receives enough sunlight so that the lamp can light up in the dark. Since there are no cables, there is no risk of tripping and the garden is that much safer for small children. An especially practical feature is that the lamps switch on automatically as soon as it gets dark outside. This means that your outdoor area will be immersed in the perfect light at all times.
Of course, it is important to make sure that the lamps are suitable for outdoor use. That's why Paulmann solar lights meet at least IP44 protection standard and are splash-proof. Some models are also protected against jet water in accordance with IP65 and are therefore suitable for use around garden ponds or pools.
When used for the first time, the solar panels need to be charged for two days in sunny weather and up to ten days in very cloudy conditions to develop their full radiant power. After that, around six to eight hours of sunlight is enough for around eight to ten hours of luminous power.
Solar garden lights
Use modern garden lights to perfectly illuminate your paths, flower beds and much more! Outdoor ground lamps emit a uniform light to illuminate smaller and larger areas. You can use them to create accent lighting or to illuminate paths to protect you from tripping in the dark.
Lighting of entrances and facades
Use solar wall lights to bathe terraces, facades and the entrance to your house in bright light. This lighting is also available with motion sensors to help your guests find the entrance when it’s completely dark. You can use solar wall lamps on a terrace to create the right atmosphere for a cosy get-together.
Solar decorative lights and lanterns
In addition to permanently installed lights, you can use mobile lights to create exceptional lighting schemes for special occasions. Bathe your evening garden parties in a romantic light with solar lanterns. Practical decorative lights provide lighting accents outdoors, even if you are having your party in the living room. Portable lights are also a great idea for balconies or roof terraces.
Targeted lighting and security around your home
Shine a bright light on your entrance by using lights with motion sensors. Wall lighting shows guests the way and discourages any intruders at the same time. Spotlights are also a good idea here. One key feature: Solar lights with motion sensors save on batteries because they do not switch on automatically in the dark.
Versatile design options with solar lights
Use solar lights to illuminate your terrace, balcony or garden. Depending on the season, terraces and other outdoor spaces are often used as living spaces where you can eat, sit with friends or relax. And just like that, your balcony becomes a second living room! This makes it all the more important to equip the area with high-quality lighting and create the right atmosphere for every occasion and any style.
It is entirely up to you how many solar lights you install in your garden, balcony or terrace. The larger the area you want to illuminate, the more lamps you will need. Yet brightness is the key factor here: Small decorative lamps and solar light chains don't need to be too bright. Path lights, wall lamps and ceiling lights in the entrance, on the other hand, should have around 400 lumens.
Ideal for gardens, paths and terraces
Bright solar lights are a good idea for illuminating key areas of your garden. This is particularly important for paths, stairs and steps. These are places where the risk of accidents is greatest, so you should be sure to illuminate these areas well. This also applies to the entrance to your house. Solar lamps with motion sensors are the perfect idea here to avoid having the driveway brightly lit all night long.
Long-lasting LED technology
Most solar lights come with LED lamps. They present a number of advantages:
- low energy consumption
- long-lasting: up to 100,000 hours of lighting time
- reduced CO₂ emissions
- recyclable
- no maintenance costs
- no breakdowns or “burn out”
Tips on how to care for solar lights
To make sure you can enjoy your solar lamps in your outdoor areas for a long time, you need to follow a few care tips. We generally recommend that you store your lights indoors during winter so that they do not suffer damage due to extreme temperature differences. An exception here is of course our top-quality LED solar lights from Paulmann that operate in winter.
Be sure to regularly remove dust, leaves and other foreign objects from the solar panel. This is the only way the battery can recharge with enough sunlight to make the solar lamp work. Use a soft slightly damp cloth.
Check the case regularly for scratches and cracks. Corrosion can set in here. Therefore, be sure to replace any damaged solar lights immediately.
