Paulmann supports people and projects in the region

As a committed further education company, we believe that every young person has the right to a good education and future prospects. That is why Paulmann has been supporting various local aid organisations and projects for children and young people in the Hanover-Hildesheim-Hameln region for several years now.

Children and young people are our future. If we support young people, we simultaneously invest in the development of our region and the future of our country. Based on this understanding, it is natural for us to support organizations that develop offers to support children and young people.

“Young People Advising Young People” by the Lower Saxony Regional Association of the German Child Protection Association

The Hanover Child and Youth Helpline is a service offered by the Hanover Child Protection Centre in cooperation with Nummer gegen Kummer e.V. In the future, there will not only be adults answering the phones there, but young people as well. That’s because thanks to a donation of 75,000 euros from Paulmann, the “Young People Advising Young People” project can be implemented in the region for the first time. The project offers young people the opportunity to talk to their peers about their concerns.

Hameln branch of the Lower Saxony Child Protection Association

The Hameln branch of the Lower Saxony Child Protection Association has made it its mission to make sure children and young people from needy families are well equipped for school with their “Chalkboard” project. Buying school materials for children and young people in grades 1, 5 and 11 can be too much for some families in terms of costs. Paulmann is therefore donating 25,000 euros to the “Chalkboard” project for more equal opportunities. The donation has secured the “Chalkboard” project’s work for three grades over three years.

Springe branch of the Lower Saxony Child Protection Association

The Springe branch of the Lower Saxony Child Protection Association supports children of primary school age with the “Lernpatenschaft” (learning mentorship) project. The learning mentors help the children with their homework and provide tutoring where needed. In addition to learning support, the project is also about the personal bond between learning mentors and children. A Paulmann donation of 25,000 euros will finance eleven learning mentors for two years.

Hildesheim branch of the Lower Saxony Child Protection Association

Thanks to a Paulmann grant of 25,000 euros, the Hildesheim branch of the Lower Saxony Child Protection Association is implementing two new projects to strengthen the rights of children and young people. In September 2021, a YouTube channel was launched on which young people film and explain children’s rights. In addition, the “learning buddies” project was started. Through the project, primary school-aged children from educationally disadvantaged families receive free weekly tutoring from their own learning buddy. Besides helping with learning, it is also about building a relationship between the child and the learning buddy so that the learning buddy can become a confidant for the primary school pupil.

Nina Dieckmann Foundation in Hanover

The Nina Dieckmann Foundation supports primary school children who do not yet speak German. During the coronavirus pandemic in particular, these children suffered enormously from restricted learning opportunities, and urgently needed additional support. Thanks to a donation of 25,000 euros, the Nina Dieckmann Foundation was able to recruit new learning mentors. Furthermore, the foundation was able to purchase urgently needed learning materials such as tablets, notebooks and printers for the pupils.

Meriba Children’s and Youth Centre in Wennigsen

Since 2007, the Marien Petri parish in Wennigsen has been offering the “Kinderkantine” (Children’s Canteen), homework help with lunch for primary school children, at the “Meriba” Children’s and Youth Centre. Children are fed after school and supervised while they do their homework. Since March 2020, the “Kinderkantine” has found itself in a particularly difficult situation due to the coronavirus pandemic. A grant of 25,000 euros contributed to the basic financing of the “Kinderkantine”.

Barsinghausen Children’s Hospice

In 2020, Paulmann trainees donated 2,000 euros and ten Pauleen Fuchs children’s lamps to the “Aufgefangen e.V.” outpatient hospice service’s “Lebenshaus” in Barsinghausen. The integrated “Fuchsbau” (Fox’s Den) is a place for children and young people to grieve after the death of a loved one. Here they can talk, craft, play games and even interact with animals such as horses and dogs to deal with the grief.

Eldagsen-Friedewalde Primary School Association

At the Honey Cake & Mustard Festival in Eldagsen, Paulmann trainees sold waffles and raffle tickets for a good cause. The proceeds were donated to the Eldagsen primary school and used to finance five tablets for the gifted and talented group.

Action Alliance for Disaster Relief

In July 2021, extreme rainfall caused devastating floods in parts of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. Paulmann donated EUR 10,000 to the Action Alliance for Disaster Relief as well as numerous luminaires, especially basement luminaires, to help those affected in the flooded areas.

HAZ-Weihnachtshilfe

HAZ-Weihnachtshilfe is the largest fundraising campaign in the Hannover region. Since 1975, the HAZ Weihnachtshilfe e.V. association has been collecting aid for those people in the region who are facing existential problems due to a wide variety of situations. In 2021, Paulmann supported the fundraising campaign with a donation of 20,000 euros.

Support for the suffering population in Ukraine

The terrible destruction caused by the Russian war of aggression has caused great suffering for the population in Ukraine since February 2022.

Paulmann wants to support the people on the ground and in March donated EUR 10,000 each for two aid deliveries for the Ukrainian population: In March, the Christian Ukrainian parish of Saint Volodymir in Hanover as well as the Round Table Foundation organised aid convoys to enable the people on the ground to be supplied with relief goods. In addition to the monetary donation, Paulmann supported the aid deliveries of the parish of Saint Volodymir by providing shipping boxes.

In addition, Save the Children Deutschland e.V., Straßenkinder e. V. and the Ukrainian Association in Lower Saxony e.V. each received donations of EUR 10,000 for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
