Everything you need to know about rechargeable batteries and batteries
Keep rechargeable batteries/batteries away from children. Also keep used rechargeable batteries/batteries out of the reach of children. Seal open battery packaging so that it is childproof.
As batteries, especially button cells, are very small, children can put them in their mouths and accidentally swallow them.
Batteries contain harmful acids and can be life-threatening if swallowed. If a battery is swallowed, this can lead to severe internal burns and death within 2 hours. There is an acute danger to life! If you suspect that a battery has been swallowed, seek medical advice and follow it. Do NOT allow your child to eat or drink anything. Inform the medical staff of the battery type. Information on the battery type can be found on the assembly instructions, the product or the battery packaging, for example.
Do not short-circuit rechargeable batteries/batteries. Avoid accidental contact between the contacts of rechargeable batteries/batteries and metal objects. This can cause a short circuit, which can lead to excessive heat or leakage of the rechargeable batteries/batteries.
Batteries must NOT be recharged, otherwise there is a DANGER OF EXPLOSION.
Never disassemble, crush, pierce or damage rechargeable batteries/batteries. This can lead to leakage, excessive heat or fire hazard. If a battery has leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Rinse the affected areas with water immediately and seek medical advice if necessary.
Protect rechargeable batteries/batteries from moisture.
Insert the rechargeable batteries/batteries into your device with the correct polarity. Observe the labelling on the device and the installation/operating instructions. If the connections of rechargeable batteries/batteries are dirty, clean them with a dry, clean cloth.
DO NOT mix old and new rechargeable batteries/batteries or different types and brands. This can cause the rechargeable batteries/batteries to leak. Remove used empty rechargeable batteries/batteries from your device immediately and dispose of them properly.
Remove the rechargeable batteries/batteries from the device if you can foresee that the device will not be used for a longer period of time. This will prevent leakage and deep discharge.
Only use chargers with CE/UKCA labelling that are suitable for your particular battery type. Batteries are supplied partially charged. To achieve the full capacity of the battery, charge it fully before using it for the first time. Observe the possible instructions in the installation and operating instructions for charging batteries.
A significantly reduced operating time after a full charge indicates that the battery has been used up and needs to be replaced.
